Travel has always meant more to me than just going somewhere new. It is about those unforgettable moments that stay with you long after you come home and the connection you carry with you afterwards.
My love for Africa stems from a lifelong passion for animals, a background degree in zoology, and years of hands-on conservation work. Before founding Wakati Travel, I spent fifteen years teaching science while earning my master's in zoology.
This background shapes everything I do, bringing curiosity, careful attention to detail, and a deep commitment to helping travelers truly connect with the wild places and wildlife they encounter.
Becoming a mother has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life, and my family continues to be at the heart of everything I do. That is woven into Wakati Travel itself. The elephant and calf in my logo reflect both my lifelong love of elephants and the deep importance of motherhood in my life.
As friends and family began turning to me for help planning their trips to Africa, I slowly realized it was a beautiful way to bring all the different parts of my life together. My conservation background, my love for Africa and my instinct to take care of people all pointed in the same direction. I built Wakati Travel from the ground up while raising two young children, with plenty of determination, very little sleep and a real desire to create something meaningful.

That idea sits at the heart of everything I do. To me, it is about slowing down, being present and creating journeys that feel thoughtful, personal and memorable in every way.
I work closely with every client to create a journey that truly reflects who they are, what matters most to them, and how they wish to experience Africa. Whether it’s a first safari, a family adventure, a honeymoon, or a once-in-a-lifetime trip, every detail is thoughtfully shaped with care and attention.
Just as importantly, I am there for my clients every step of the way, from our very first conversation until they are safely back home. My clients know they can reach me whenever they need assistance, guidance, or reassurance, and that level of support provides invaluable peace of mind. When traveling to a destination that may be unfamiliar, having a trusted advocate in your corner can make all the difference.
